Trey Kucherka and Faezeh Sadrabadi join the Vitis Regulatory team

Meet two of the latest scientists to join the team at Vitis Regulatory - Trey Kucherka, based in the UK, and Faezeh Sadrabadi in Germany.

Faezeh Sadrabadi, Consultant Scientist

Faezeh Joined the Vitis Regulatory group as a Consultant Scientist in January of 2024. Faezeh has a Bachelor of Science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Kharazmi University, Tehran, Iran; and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Biochemistry from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, Mashhad, Iran. She is currently finalizing her PhD in toxicology, focused on a project to identify and characterize, at the molecular level, the effects of PFAS and of human-relevant PFAS mixtures on lipid metabolism and on cholesterol and bile acid homeostasis by using human liver cell lines, which is being carried out jointly at German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) and Technical University Berlin.

Faezeh has been working in and around the field of biology for over 12 years, she brings with her a wide range of skills and experience including various toxicological assays, which extends to mixtures evaluation.

Faezeh has experience of many omics technologies and is also knowledgeable in 3Rs principles and various New Approach Methodologies (NAMs). 

Trey Kucherka, Principal Scientist

Trey Kucherka joined Vitis Regulatory as a Principal Scientist in late 2023. Trey brings with him a wide variety of skills and 15 years of experience in the ecotoxicology field. Trey gained his Bachelor of Science in biology at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and went on to obtain a Master of Science degree in mariculture at the same University. 

Trey has worked in a wide range of professional scientific positions, including aquaculture, ecology, endocrinology and molecular biology. His early career was primarily in academic and government research roles before progressing to commercial roles in the USA and UK. More recently Trey’s career developed in contract research laboratories (CROs), primarily in ecotoxicology, as well as a period supporting environmental safety at a personal care products manufacturing company.

Trey integrates his knowledge and skills on management and strategy, and in-depth knowledge of testing on projects at Vitis.
