SETAC North America 2024: Prioritizing the development of a standardized international approach to assessing the biodegradability of cosmetic formulations

Silke Fiebig, Principal Scientist with Vitis Regulatory, is an expert on persistence and ecotoxicology testing and has recently been working with the International Collaboration on Cosmetics Safety (ICCS) on evaluate methodologies to assess whole product biodegradability.

She was co-author of a poster exhibited at SETAC Europe 34th Annual Meeting in Seville in May this year that generated considerable interest : Biodegradable or not? Developing a standardized international approach to assess the biodegradability of cosmetics formulations.

An adapted version of that poster is to be presented by ICCS at SETAC North America 45th Annual Meeting in Fort Worth, Texas on 22nd October: Prioritizing the Development of a Standardized International Approach to Assessing the Biodegradability of Cosmetic Formulations.
